Bharti Airtel Launches Network in Phobrang, India’s Most Remote Border Village
Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has announced the launch of its network in Phobrang, a village situated on the Indo-China border.
Despite facing significant challenges such as difficult terrain, harsh weather conditions, and sensitive security zones, Airtel’s network roll-out team successfully completed the deployment. This pioneering effort provides essential network access to both residents and visitors in this remote region, highlighting Airtel’s commitment to connectivity in challenging environments.
The expansion will bring connectivity to 2,000 households in Phobrang, allowing them to stay connected and benefit from Airtel’s services. Phobrang is notable for being one of the most isolated villages on the border and is home to India’s highest herbal garden, located at an altitude of 15,000 feet above sea level.
