Wipro Appoints Srikumar Rao as Global Head of Engineering Edge Business Line
Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading provider of consulting and technology services, has announced the appointment of Srikumar Rao as the Global Head of its Engineering Edge business line, effective October 5, 2024. Srikumar takes over from Harmeet Chauhan, who is leaving to explore new opportunities outside the company. Srikumar will report directly to Srini Pallia.

Srikumar Rao, who has been with Wipro for 26 years, has held numerous leadership positions, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Wipro Engineering Edge (WEE) and Head of the Global Integrated Systems Practice. His role has encompassed selling and providing specialized engineering, research, and development (EP&D) services across various markets including software and internet, semiconductor, automotive, manufacturing, and communications.
In his new role, Srikumar will focus on expanding and enhancing Wipro’s engineering capabilities. He will be responsible for defining the vision and growth strategy for Wipro’s EP&D Services business and delivering cutting-edge AI-first products, solutions, and experiences.

Srikumar Rao is also a member of the Executive Board of NASSCOM, EP&D. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune, and a Postgraduate degree in Software Business Management from IIM Bangalore. He will be based in Bangalore, India.
