Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications providers, has announced the successful deployment of additional spectrum acquired in July 2024. The company has added 5MHz on the 1800 band and 4MHz on the 900 band, boosting its 5G/4G network capacity. This upgrade will improve data speeds and significantly enhance coverage, particularly inside homes and buildings in both urban and rural areas.
With the deployment complete, Airtel customers in cities like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Alwar, Sikar, and Pali will benefit from better voice and data services. Additionally, this expansion ensures wider coverage along highways and rail routes, addressing the rising demand for connectivity in rural regions.

In the recent spectrum auction, Bharti Airtel secured 97MHz of spectrum, not only re-acquiring its expired holdings but also expanding its Sub-GHz spectrum and consolidating fragmented blocks. With the largest pool of mid-band spectrum across the 900, 1800, 2100, and 2300 bands, Airtel is well-equipped to meet the growing demand for high-speed 5G and 4G services. The company has also begun re-farming its mid-band spectrum for 5G to support increasing data needs.
