Charter Communications and CableLabs Unveil ‘Bryte IQ’ NaaS Platform

Standardized API PlatformSet to Revolutionize Service Delivery and Innovation for Developers

STAMFORD, Conn. — Charter Communications Inc. and CableLabs have jointly announced the launch of Bryte IQ, a Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform designed for Charter’s wired and wireless networks. Bryte IQ operates on a standardized application programming interface (API) framework, ensuring secure, privacy-conscious, and seamless access for developers. This initiative is based on the Linux Foundation’s CAMARA project, which fosters API interoperability within the communications sector.

By harnessing Charter’s extensive network alongside CableLabs’ collaborative approach to developer services, Bryte IQ offers a Business-to-Business (B2B) platform that simplifies the deployment of services across communication networks. This empowers developers to innovate and adapt applications swiftly. The platform supports developer registration, secure joint authentication for end consumers, and scalable CAMARA-based APIs.

“Bryte IQ marks a significant advancement in our collaborative efforts for customer benefit,” stated Danny Bowman, Executive Vice President of Product at Charter Communications. “Its standardized approach guarantees interoperability and streamlines processes for developers, nurturing a thriving ecosystem of innovative services and applications on our network.”

Bowman introduced Bryte IQ during his presentation at SCTE TechExpo 24 in Atlanta, Georgia, where industry representatives gathered to discuss the platform’s capabilities and its potential to enhance customer experience.

“As one of the first partners utilizing Bryte IQ, we plan to enhance our operations using Charter’s NaaS platform,” said Justin Donohoo, Chief Technology Officer at Onboard. “This technology will allow us to improve tech amenity support for residents in multi-family properties while accelerating value for property owners and enhancing operational efficiencies for service providers.”

Bryte IQ will provide developers across various industries with:

  • APIs that offer access to Charter’s network capabilities, visibility into connected devices, and improved CPE management for home networks.
  • Tools for developing, testing, and deploying services to millions of customers and homes.
  • Opportunities for collaboration with Charter experts to explore the platform’s features and identify innovative solutions for business challenges.
