At MWC Las Vegas, Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE American: GSAT), a leading provider of next-generation satellite and communication services, announced that its Band 53 spectrum will power high-value, mission-critical applications by combining with Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) in the U.S. through carrier aggregation.
Globalstar is collaborating with Global Telecom, Alliance, and Hawk Networks, which utilizes the Althea platform, to provide enhanced, reliable connectivity. Global Telecom has pioneered the first carrier aggregation modules that combine Band 53 with other bands, including CBRS. This solution addresses the increasing demand for reliable private wireless networks, using Globalstar’s 10 MHz channel in Band 53 to ensure continuous service, even in Dynamic Protection Areas (DPAs) or when Priority Access License (PAL) channels are unavailable.
Alliance will implement this innovative solution using the Althea platform and Hawk Networks’ LTE/5G core technology, enabling the simultaneous use of CBRS Band 48 and Band 53 for channel aggregation. Globalstar will authorize the use of Band 53 in designated areas, while Global Telecom will provide a portfolio of compatible devices and RAN solutions for the U.S. market.
Customer feedback highlights the solution’s reliability for mission-critical applications, driving CBRS adoption and resolving challenges with channel-sharing regulations.
Globalstar remains committed to expanding the Band 53/n53 ecosystem, offering private wireless network solutions for LTE and 5G NR technologies. Through its collaboration with Global Telecom, Alliance, and Hawk Networks, Globalstar strengthens its portfolio of wireless solutions, serving both U.S. and international markets.
