Airtel Boosts Network in Jammu, Kashmir & Leh Ladakh for Enhanced Voice and Data Connectivity

Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom providers, announced the completion of its additional spectrum deployment acquired in July 2024. The company has added 5MHz on the 2100 band and 3.8MHz on the 900 band to enhance its 5G/4G network capacity. This will significantly improve data speeds and provide better coverage, especially inside homes and buildings, in both urban and rural areas.

Customers across Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh Ladakh will now experience better voice and data services, including wider coverage along highways, rail routes, and in rural areas where connectivity demand is rapidly increasing.

Adarsh Verma, COO of Jammu and Kashmir, Bharti Airtel, emphasized the company’s dedication to superior network performance. He highlighted that the new spectrum integration would enhance call connectivity, data speeds, and overall service quality in the region. Airtel plans to continue investing in technologies to further improve customer experience.

In the recent Spectrum Auction, Airtel secured 97MHz of spectrum, re-acquiring expired holdings and expanding its Sub-GHz spectrum. With its large mid-band spectrum holdings across the 900, 1800, 2100, and 2300 bands, Airtel is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for high-speed data services, particularly with its ongoing efforts to re-farm mid-band spectrum for 5G.
