Netsmart and McBee Showcase AI Innovations for Post-Acute Care at NAHC 2024

Netsmart will unveil the latest advancements in its CareFabric® platform at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) Conference and Expo, taking place from October 20-22 in Tampa, Florida. Key highlights include a new partnership with Apricot for an augmented intelligence (AI) solution, along with the myUnity® NX electronic health record (EHR) tailored for post-acute care settings. These innovations aim to enhance care delivery for home care and hospice agencies.

“This partnership will streamline workflows for home health providers while empowering organizations to improve clinical capacity, support value-based care initiatives, and ultimately boost job satisfaction among clinicians,” said Trent Smith, Founder & CEO of Apricot.

The collaboration with Apricot will introduce an innovative tool that utilizes generative AI technology to streamline OASIS and routine visit documentation, enhancing operational efficiency. This initiative aligns with Netsmart’s meaningful AI strategy, reinforcing its commitment to delivering advanced technology solutions aimed at improving clinical outcomes. By integrating the Apricot solution into the CareFabric platform, Netsmart clients can expect a reduction in documentation time by over 75%, allowing clinicians to prioritize patient care over administrative tasks.

Attendees can explore the impact of AI-driven solutions for post-acute care providers by visiting the AI Data Lab at the Netsmart and McBee booth 401. The focus on AI and automation is designed to minimize repetitive tasks, enabling clinical, financial, and operational staff to concentrate on high-value contributions.

In addition to AI innovations, NAHC attendees can explore over 60 solutions and services within the Netsmart CareFabric platform. New offerings include SimpleConnect™ for Hospice HIS compliance, SimpleConnect™ for Home Health OASIS and PDGM compliance, AlphaCollector™ collections automation management, Bells (a clinical documentation and ambient listening solution), and the next generation of myUnity.

The NX version of myUnity is an ONC-certified platform that integrates various care settings into a single patient record while incorporating essential features to support value-based payment models. Its capabilities include analytics, interoperability, population health management, and electronic referral management, all designed to enhance user experience and streamline clinician workflows.

“To succeed in value-based care, post-acute care providers must invest in technology that lays a strong foundation for the future,” said David Strocchia, SVP of Provider Solutions at Netsmart. “Collaboration between providers and healthcare IT partners is essential for expanding service lines, targeting outcomes, and reducing costs. We look forward to discussing these key topics with NAHC attendees and working together to embrace emerging care models.”
