Advanced Energy Unveils 1300W 28V High-Efficiency DC-DC Converter with Digital Control

Advanced Energy, a global leader in precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions, has introduced its new ultra-efficient, high-reliability DC-DC converter module. The 1300W device delivers a 28V output in a standard half-brick form factor, providing remote digital control capabilities with low power consumption.

The Advanced Energy Artesyn® ADH1300-48S28 is optimized for telecom wireless base stations and equipment featuring radio frequency power amplifiers (RFPAs). With an industry-leading efficiency of nearly 96% at full load, it also boasts a specialized thermal design ideal for sealed enclosures, such as radio frequency remote heads (RRH), where contact cooling is required. Additionally, the PMBus interface allows remote configuration, monitoring, and control, reducing maintenance costs.

“RF power amplifiers are the highest energy consumers within a base station, requiring peak efficiency at all times,” said Joe Voyles, VP of Industrial Power Conversion Products at Advanced Energy. “As power demands rise, our compact ADH1300-48S28 converter can deliver high power output with top efficiency in a small form factor, enabling efficient designs and lowering operational costs while future-proofing RFPA applications.”

The ADH1300-48S28 features wide-range voltage regulation, allowing designers to tailor its performance to specific needs. It also includes built-in protection features, such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit safeguards.
