AT&T and Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) have signed a new multi-year agreement worth over $1 billion to provide advanced fiber, cable, and connectivity solutions, supporting AT&T’s continued expansion of high-speed fiber internet across the U.S.
As the nation’s largest fiber internet provider, AT&T is dedicated to bringing high-quality fiber connectivity to more communities. Corning, AT&T’s largest fiber supplier, grants AT&T preferential volume status, helping accelerate network expansion, enhance performance, and reduce deployment costs. This agreement builds on their longstanding collaboration.
AT&T will leverage Corning’s latest Evolv® connectivity solutions, including the Evolv® FlexNAP™ system with Multifiber Pushlok® Technology, which complies with Build America, Buy America provisions under the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.
“We’ve built the nation’s fastest broadband network,” said AT&T CEO John Stankey. “This new agreement with Corning helps us connect more households, communities, and businesses with the high-speed, reliable internet they need to thrive in a digital world.”
Corning CEO Wendell P. Weeks highlighted the company’s commitment to providing high-speed fiber connections, stating, “Our extended partnership with AT&T will help bring the transformational benefits of fiber to more people and communities. We believe in the value of connecting more people, and optical fiber is doing that at an unprecedented scale.”
In addition to organic investments, AT&T’s network expansion includes the Gigapower joint venture with BlackRock and several commercial open-access agreements, reaching 28.3 million consumer and business locations, with plans to exceed 30 million by 2025.
