The Town of Sevastopol has unveiled a groundbreaking collaboration with AT&T* to extend AT&T Fiber to over 2,000 customer locations throughout the town. Commencing in the first quarter of 2024, the comprehensive planning and engineering efforts for this initiative are anticipated to conclude within a two-year timeframe.
Leveraging its extensive expertise in deploying fiber-optic networks across Wisconsin, AT&T boasts over 1.2 million strand-miles of fiber optics within the state, providing more than 370,000 locations with access to AT&T Fiber. Sevastopol Town Chair, Dan Woelfel, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the significance of fast connectivity in today’s digital era. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Communications and Technology Committee, led by Supervisor Jeanne Vogel, in identifying the ideal partner for the town.
As part of the $7.4 million public-private endeavor, AT&T will deliver fiber services to both residential and business addresses within the Town of Sevastopol in Door County. The project’s planning and engineering phase is set to kick off in the first quarter of 2024, with the network buildout scheduled for completion within two years.

The initiative aims to provide residents and businesses in Sevastopol with access to superfast internet, offering up to 5-Gig speeds with symmetrical upload and download speeds. This enables users to connect multiple devices, stream various entertainment sources, swiftly upload content to social media, and experience ultra-low lag for professional-level gaming simultaneously. AT&T Fiber is also multi-gig capable from the installation day, ensuring it can meet the demands of the present and the hyperconnected future.
