Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata” or “the Group”) is enhancing its board leadership with the appointment of Amrit Kaur as an Independent Non-Executive Director (“INED”) effective 1 July 2024. Amrit Kaur will also serve as a member and Chair of the Board Audit Committee.
At 63, Amrit brings over 30 years of experience in regulatory compliance, financial advisory, and risk management, contributing to sustainable quality assurance practices. She began her auditing career at Arthur Andersen in 1989 before joining PwC Malaysia, where she held various management and partnership positions, including global leadership roles.
Throughout her career, Amrit has led engagements advising Malaysia’s largest public institutions on projects ranging from mergers and acquisitions to the implementation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards.
She is a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant under the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
