“T-Mobile Continues Dominance in Latest Ookla Network Report”
Today, Ookla, a leading authority in network insights and intelligence, released its Speedtest® Connectivity United States 1H 2024 report, once again positioning T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) as the top-performing network across multiple categories. This achievement marks a consistent trend over the past two years, with T-Mobile leading nearly all metrics.
Ulf Ewaldsson, President of Technology at T-Mobile, emphasized the company’s sustained excellence, stating, “This latest report reaffirms T-Mobile’s longstanding position as the nation’s premier network provider. Since pioneering the first nationwide 5G network in 2019, we continue to drive industry standards forward.”
Ookla’s methodology relies on millions of real-world user tests and billions of data points to determine network performance objectively:
- Fastest Network: T-Mobile boasts download speeds over twice as fast as competitors Verizon and AT&T.
- Fastest 5G Network: T-Mobile’s 5G speeds rival those of leading traditional home internet providers.
- Most Consistent: T-Mobile scores highest in ensuring reliable network performance and quality.
- Best Mobile Video and 5G Mobile Video Experience: Customers enjoy superior video streaming experiences on T-Mobile’s network.
- Best Gaming Experience: T-Mobile offers the lowest latency and fastest response times, enhancing gaming performance.
- Highest Consumer Sentiment: Speedtest users rate T-Mobile as the top mobile provider in the U.S.
Additionally, T-Mobile remains the fastest network in 45 states and the District of Columbia, as well as the fastest in 73 of the 100 largest U.S. cities. In comparison, Verizon led in only six cities and AT&T in just one.
T-Mobile continues to expand its leadership in 5G, covering over 330 million people across two million square miles. Its Ultra Capacity 5G reaches more than 300 million people, with coverage extending over twice the area compared to similar mid-band 5G networks from competitors.
