DEFCON AI Provides ARTIV Technology to the Air Force

DEFCON AI, a company specializing in advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tools for modern military environments, has officially delivered its cutting-edge MS&A tool, ARTIV, to the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command. This decision-support platform aids planners in contested mobility scenarios by enabling the design of optimized transportation and logistics networks that maintain resilience. The successful delivery of ARTIV, completed on budget, marks the culmination of a two-year development process following DEFCON AI’s receipt of a Department of the Air Force Phase II Small Business Innovation Research contract. This contract was awarded to develop operational-level logistics training software capable of supporting mission planning amidst disruptions. The delivery comes just six months after ARTIV’s prototype was deployed to DoD Impact Level 5.

ARTIV allows planners to preemptively test and optimize logistics and transportation strategies in scenarios such as attacks on airports or severe storms disrupting major ports. As a cloud-native tool, ARTIV supports training under various real-world conditions, enabling planners to ensure swift resource mobilization despite operational disruptions. Key features include a Resiliency Setting with an intelligent Red Agent designed to identify vulnerabilities in plans that adversaries could exploit, allowing planners to devise and refine responses to potential disruptions. ARTIV also offers the ability to balance cost and effectiveness by selecting from a range of settings, from highly effective to highly efficient, thus providing the Department of Defense with the flexibility to enhance outcomes during wartime and optimize cost-effectiveness when appropriate.

ARTIV empowers logistics and transportation planners to anticipate and navigate crises by facilitating the formulation, visualization, analysis, and comparison of action plans against an intelligent Red Agent or war-gamed threat scenarios,” said Yisroel Brumer, DEFCON AI’s Co-Founder and CEO. “These capabilities are crucial for today’s planners, enabling them to accelerate planning from weeks and months to days and develop resilient plans that minimize risk.”

“Our objective at DEFCON AI is to enhance the logistics and transportation planning capabilities of warfighters,” stated retired Gen. Paul Selva, DEFCON AI’s Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. “With the delivery of ARTIV, we are achieving this goal by providing technology that automates the joint-planning process with an intuitive user interface. This approach reduces costs, lowers operational risks for deployed units, and ensures that Services and Combatant Commands can efficiently manage resources through optimal channels.
