Globalstar, a next-generation mobile satellite and communications services provider, has announced that its Band 53 spectrum will enable high-value, mission-critical applications through carrier aggregation with Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) in the U.S.
In a strategic collaboration with Global Telecom, Alliance, and Hawk Networks, which builds on the Althea platform, Globalstar aims to enhance connectivity for U.S. customers. This partnership capitalizes on Globalstar’s established reputation with Global Telecom, a leader in innovative solutions. Global Telecom has pioneered carrier aggregation modules that integrate Band 53 with CBRS, meeting the rising demand for dependable wireless services. The 10 MHz channel in Band 53 will ensure seamless connectivity for CBRS networks, even in critical Dynamic Protection Areas (DPAs) or when Priority Access License (PAL) channels are unavailable.
Alliance will implement the new solution by leveraging the Althea platform and Hawk Networks’ advanced LTE/5G core technology, allowing simultaneous use of CBRS Band 48 and Band 53 for enhanced channel aggregation. The offering will include Band 53 spectrum rights authorized by Globalstar for designated areas, along with Global Telecom’s extensive range of devices and various RAN solutions for the U.S. market.
Customer feedback underscores the solution’s reliability for mission-critical applications and its effectiveness in expanding CBRS adoption while navigating channel-sharing regulations.
Globalstar is dedicated to advancing the Band 53/n53 ecosystem to provide robust connectivity solutions for private networks utilizing LTE and 5G NR technologies. Collaborating with Global Telecom, Alliance, and Hawk Networks, Globalstar enhances existing wireless solutions that support private wireless networks domestically and internationally.
