Rayleigh Vision Unveils AI-Powered Manufacturing to Enhance MicroLED Display Technology

Rayleigh Vision, a leading company in MicroLED display technology, has announced a breakthrough in AI-assisted manufacturing aimed at streamlining the production of next-generation MicroLED displays. By integrating AI algorithms and machine learning techniques, Rayleigh Vision reports significant improvements in efficiency across the mass transfer, inspection, and repair processes compared to industry standards. These innovations have been transferred to a partner company, which is expected to enhance production efficiency further upon establishing a pilot production line in Taiwan.

MicroLED technology is renowned for its potential to deliver superior brightness, contrast, and power efficiency. However, its complex manufacturing process has hindered widespread adoption. Rayleigh Vision’s AI-driven solution aims to overcome these challenges, facilitating the mass adoption of MicroLED displays in various applications, including smartphones, wearables, and advanced extended reality (XR) devices.

Rayleigh Vision is actively collaborating with both industry and academia to advance their MicroLED technologies. Their partnership with City University of Hong Kong and National Chung Cheng University has led to the development of a groundbreaking 4K blue MicroLED microdisplay with a pixel size of less than 2 micrometers. This achievement paves the way for more advanced applications, such as vertically stacked MicroLED displays, identified by industry leaders like Samsung Display as a promising solution for XR microdisplays. At the Microdisplay Conference on May 23, Samsung Display Vice President Mr. Huh Jong-Moo highlighted that vertically integrated MicroLED technology is the ultimate solution for XR microdisplays (source: THE ELEC, Korea Electronics Industry Media).

Professor Jr-Hau He from City University of Hong Kong, founder of Rayleigh Vision, expressed optimism about the company’s potential to shape the future of MicroLED technology. He emphasized that their AI-assisted manufacturing solution is just the beginning. As they continue to refine their processes, they envision a future where MicroLED displays are more accessible, energy-efficient, and visually impressive.
