In honor of Singapore’s 59th year of independence, Singtel has introduced SIM-only, no-contract mobile plans tailored to the evolving digital and travel lifestyles of its customers. Additionally, a range of deals across mobile, TV, and broadband services are available to reward loyal subscribers. To celebrate, Singtel also released a heartwarming film capturing the quintessential Singaporean kampong spirit.
Customer-Centric Innovations
A late 2023 study by Singtel revealed that customers prioritize flexible payment options and value-added services like roaming. The study also found that customers are willing to pay a premium for strong, reliable connectivity to support their digital consumption habits, alongside enhanced security to combat the rise in digital fraud and scams. These insights led to the creation of the no-contract SIM-only plans, which include roaming and mobile security services.
“Providing good service and better value for our customers is always a top priority for Singtel. These ongoing studies and engagements at various customer touchpoints provide invaluable insights that help us understand their evolving behaviours and lifestyle requirements which strongly influence how we design our products and services. With the new 5G no-contract SIM-only plans, our customers have greater flexibility to choose the plans that meet their digital lifestyle needs and can confidently enjoy using their favourite apps, even when they travel, knowing that they are protected by Singtel’s added defence measures,” said Ms. Anna Yip, Deputy CEO, Singtel Singapore and CEO, Business Development.
Enhanced Flexibility and Value
The new 5G plans, categorized as “Core,” “Plus,” and “Ultra,” offer high-speed connectivity, low latency, and high bandwidth, catering to the growing number of customers streaming ultra-high-definition videos and gaming on the go. In a first for Singapore, these plans come with value-added services such as international roaming, mobile security, and a Disney+ Premium subscription supporting 4K UHD and HDR video playback. Subscribers also receive up to $20 monthly cashback when purchasing a phone via Singtel PayLater, alongside these SIM-only plans.
The high-value plans also include free data roaming of up to 6GB across 18 destinations, including popular holiday spots like Australia, Japan, and South Korea.

Celebrating Community Spirit
Singtel’s second National Day film, “LIFT,” is set in a public housing lift, a familiar sight to Singaporeans. It features two strangers in an unfortunate situation, highlighting the Singaporean kampong spirit that emerges when a neighbor needs help.
The film’s main characters, Farah and Ah Ben, are in a stalled lift. Ah Ben, panicking due to claustrophobia, realizes his phone has no reception, amplifying his anxiety. Farah calms him with her positive attitude and quick thinking, using her Singtel 5G-connected device to stream scenes from the National Day parade. As they get caught up in the festivities, a friendship blossoms.
Watch the film to see how Farah and Ah Ben’s shared experience turns into a celebration of community and friendship.
