SiriusXM (NASDAQ: SIRI) has unveiled a significant new multi-year agreement with Alex Cooper, the global podcasting sensation behind the highly popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast. The partnership, set to begin rolling out in 2025, includes an extensive programming development strategy for exclusive content on SiriusXM. It also grants SiriusXM exclusive rights to advertising, distribution, content, events, and more for Cooper’s flagship podcast, as well as the broader lineup of shows under Unwell Network.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Cooper stated, “I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM. The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM, we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners with the best experience. The Daddy Gang wants more, so we’re getting ready to give them more…I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”
Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM, praised Cooper’s unique and unfiltered approach, noting that her dedicated fanbase aligns perfectly with the type of content SiriusXM subscribers expect. “Alex is the voice of a new generation,” he said, emphasizing the company’s eagerness to support Cooper’s growth and expand her audience.
SiriusXM Media, the company’s advertising arm, has secured exclusive global ad sales rights to both the audio and video editions of “Call Her Daddy” and all of Unwell Network’s current and future shows, including popular podcasts like “Hot Mess with Alix Earle,” “Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy,” “Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey,” and “In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele.” With the addition of these shows, the SiriusXM Podcast Network, which reaches half of all U.S. podcast listeners each month, further solidifies its position as a leading platform for advertisers seeking to harness the power of podcasting.
Since its debut in 2018, “Call Her Daddy” has become a cultural phenomenon, consistently ranking as one of the world’s most-listened-to podcasts. TIME Magazine has dubbed Cooper “arguably the most successful woman in podcasting,” highlighting her role in creating a space where women are empowered to share their unapologetic stories. “Call Her Daddy” has millions of devoted listeners, making it the top podcast for women on Spotify globally.
Cooper, often referred to as “Gen Z’s Barbara Walters” by Rolling Stone, continues to challenge norms and break stigmas, particularly around mental health and personal empowerment. Her candid, comedic approach covers a wide range of topics, from life experiences to culture and relationships. “The Daddy Gang,” her loyal fanbase, has embraced the podcast’s values and contributed to its influence on pop culture.
Recently, Cooper launched the media company Trending and its subsidiary Unwell Audio Network, LLC, with her husband and business partner Matt Kaplan of Ace Entertainment. This new venture aims to amplify the voices and stories of Gen Z, with Unwell Network signing top creators and influencers to develop multiplatform projects.
Unwell Network joins SiriusXM’s distinguished roster of exclusive podcast and media company partnerships, which includes SmartLess Media, audiochuck, Crooked Media, and SiriusXM’s own award-winning shows like “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.”
Podcasts are central to the SiriusXM app, which offers features such as transcription, playback speed adjustment, key moment markers, auto downloads, and an expanded library. “Call Her Daddy” episodes will also be available ad-free on SiriusXM Podcasts+, the company’s premium podcast subscription service available on Apple Podcasts. With these developments, SiriusXM is poised to provide new platforms for Cooper and other Unwell creators to connect with their audiences like never before.
