This World Series, T-Mobile is stepping up for hurricane relief with its “Rally for Relief” campaign, donating $25,000 for every home run hit, along with $10 for every ‘RALLY’ text sent to 90999, totaling up to $1 million. Teaming up with the American Red Cross, the campaign aims to support communities impacted by 2024’s Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
“As communities begin to rebuild after these devastating hurricanes, we’re committed to standing by them,” said Mike Katz, T-Mobile’s President of Marketing, Strategy, and Products. “Through ‘Rally for Relief,’ we’re inviting baseball fans to help us make a difference for those who need it most, using the spotlight of one of America’s biggest stages to rally support.”
T-Mobile and the American Red Cross share a longstanding partnership, collaborating for over a decade to provide essential resources during natural disasters. Funds raised through Rally for Relief will directly aid those impacted by hurricanes and tropical storms, helping to supply shelter, meals, and support services.
Since the launch of its “Home Runs for Hurricane Recovery” initiative in 2017, T-Mobile has donated over $7.5 million to disaster relief organizations, supporting projects like home rebuilding in Florida post-Hurricane Irma and constructing hurricane-resilient roofs in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria. Additionally, T-Mobile has supported evacuation centers with connectivity and resources, as seen during Hurricane Ian in 2022.
This year’s Rally for Relief initiative includes a unique musical contribution. Grammy-winning artist Sheryl Crow has partnered with T-Mobile to record “Light A Candle,” a song written by Luke Dick and Ronan O’Mahony. The track will feature in a new TV spot airing during the World Series, and Crow’s proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross to support relief efforts.
“In the wake of these historic storms, I’m honored to partner with T-Mobile to bring attention to the relief efforts and provide a way for everyone to contribute,” said Crow. “My hope is that this song inspires fans to get involved and lend a hand to those who need it.”
T-Mobile has deployed over 600 emergency personnel, field engineers, and technicians in affected areas to quickly restore service, set up Wi-Fi trailers, mobile command centers, and provide resources in partnership with local agencies and the Red Cross. With 800 generators deployed to keep services running, T-Mobile is making sure essential connectivity remains available to communities, emergency responders, and evacuees.
Fans can join the relief efforts by texting ‘RALLY’ to 90999 during the World Series to make their donation. For more on T-Mobile’s emergency response efforts, visit T-Mobile News.
