True Corporation has expanded its 5G, 4G, and WiFi networks to support the public attending the Royal Barge Procession along the Chao Phraya River, from Rama VIII Bridge to Wat Arun Ratchawararam. To ensure seamless communication, a team has been deployed to assess and strengthen the signal, ready for both the virtual rehearsal on October 22, 2024, and the main royal ceremony on October 27, 2024.
In celebration of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, this expansion aims to enhance the public’s ability to follow and share the Royal Barge Procession, where His Majesty and Her Majesty the Queen will travel to Wat Arun for the Kathin robe-offering ceremony. True Corporation expressed its dedication to facilitating a smooth experience for attendees, emphasizing the importance of digital infrastructure in today’s world for sharing live events, images, and videos.
True Corporation’s enhancements include:
- Deploying mobile base station vehicles (COWs) at key locations.
- Installing temporary signal poles to expand coverage at event areas.
- Setting up WiFi hotspots along the main travel routes.
- Adjusting signal parameters based on expected usage behavior.
- Monitoring the network 24/7 via the BNIC Intelligent Network Operation Center powered by AI.
Ms. Kesinee Chanwijit, Senior Engineer at True Corporation, stated that preparations began five months in advance, using past event data, including the 2019 Royal Barge Procession, to design an optimal communication network. The team carried out an area inspection on October 15, refining their plan to ensure smooth coverage during the dress rehearsal and the actual procession. Given the unique riverside setting, space limitations required careful coordination with both government and private agencies to install mobile base stations and signal poles in the most efficient locations.
True Corporation remains committed to delivering a world-class customer experience, continuously improving its 5G, 4G, and WiFi networks to meet modern digital needs.
