CUPE 687, the union representing employees in Montréal, Québec City, and local stations, along with TVA Group, announced today that they have successfully reached a tentative agreement to renew their two collective agreements.
This achievement follows extensive bargaining talks that commenced in December 2023 and continued with the support of a conciliator appointed by the Minister of Labour. During negotiations, both parties collaboratively established the framework for the new collective agreements and devised measures to address the impact on employees following the announcement made on November 2, 2023.
Expressing satisfaction with the negotiated agreements, the involved parties acknowledge their significance in addressing the significant challenges within the industry. The agreements not only maintain excellent employment conditions but also ensure the continuation of high-quality journalistic coverage throughout Québec.
Respecting the decision-making process, both the Union and TVA Group have decided to withhold further comments until the agreements undergo a vote at the general assemblies of the two union units.
