Veritone, a leader in human-centered enterprise AI solutions, has announced major upgrades to Veritone Track, its AI-powered digital video forensics tool for law enforcement and public safety. The latest enhancements allow users to identify and track vehicles by make and model across multiple video sources, significantly improving investigative speed and accuracy without relying on personally identifiable information (PII). The update also incorporates user feedback, featuring a redesigned interface to streamline workflows and functionality that automatically compiles all video evidence related to a person or vehicle of interest into a cohesive timeline.
“The ability to leverage advanced AI for vehicle tracking helps officers manage vast amounts of data and enhances investigation speed and accuracy while safeguarding personally identifiable information,” said a company spokesperson.
Veritone Track is part of the intelligent digital evidence management system (iDEMS), which utilizes AI to simplify the management and analysis of digital evidence, including audio and video. This powerful suite equips law enforcement agencies with the tools needed to efficiently handle extensive data. iDEMS is powered by Veritone’s enterprise AI platform, aiWARE™, which integrates over 300 best-of-breed cognitive and generative AI models across more than 20 categories.
The latest version of Track uses AI to detect vehicles of interest and automatically track their movements through various camera sources, including closed-circuit television, body cameras, drones, social media, and citizen uploads. This technology minimizes the need for manual video review, improving case clearance rates and operational efficiency.
“Veritone Track’s enhancements enhance search and performance capabilities, allowing public safety and investigative teams to respond to threats more effectively,” said Jon Gacek, General Manager of Public Sector at Veritone. “These improvements strengthen our iDEMS, helping agencies quickly access, manage, and share digital evidence.”
Richard Coleman, CEO of MissionRT, emphasized the importance of providing advanced technology to law enforcement. “The ability to leverage AI for vehicle tracking helps officers efficiently manage large data sets, enhancing investigation speed and accuracy while protecting personal information,” he said.
In addition to vehicle tracking, Veritone Track offers other applications:
- Video Surveillance Efficiency: Analyzes vast amounts of video footage from multiple sources, reducing manual review time during urgent investigations.
- Event and Crowd Monitoring: Monitors large-scale events to identify suspicious vehicles or patterns, enhancing safety during public gatherings.
- Enhanced Security: Helps security teams monitor potentially threatening vehicles in sensitive locations.
- Cross-Jurisdictional Collaboration: Facilitates the sharing of vehicle data across agencies, supporting multi-agency investigations.
Veritone will showcase Veritone Track and iDEMS at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference and Exposition, taking place October 19-22 in Boston. For more information about Veritone’s public sector solutions, visit Veritone’s website.
