For the fifth consecutive year, Cellnex has been acknowledged for its transparency and dedication to addressing climate change, securing a coveted position on the esteemed “A List” maintained by CDP. CDP, a non-profit organization overseeing a global disclosure system, facilitates environmental impact management for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions.
The independent telecommunications infrastructure operator excelled in areas such as “opportunity and risk disclosure, business strategy, financial planning, and scenario analysis, including the establishment of ambitious and impactful targets.” This information was provided as part of Cellnex’s responses to CDP’s climate change questionnaire in 2023.
Cellnex’s outstanding performance in sustainability and its steadfast commitment to combating climate change position the company prominently in the CDP index. Out of the over 21,000 companies constituting the index, Cellnex not only retained its place on the “A List” but also maintained its leading position within its sector. Within its sustainability commitment, Cellnex stands out in terms of transparency and dedication to climate-related issues.
Upon receiving the award, Àngels Ucero, Director of Sustainability at Cellnex and Director of the Cellnex Foundation, expressed satisfaction and pride, stating, “We are pleased and proud to have upheld our position for the fifth consecutive year in an index as internationally esteemed as CDP. Environmental protection and the fight against climate change are fundamental pillars of Cellnex’s sustainability strategy.”
In response to the recognition, Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, extended congratulations to all companies on the “A List” and those progressing in environmental transparency in 2023. Madera emphasized the importance of disclosure, noting a commendable 24% increase in disclosures over the past year. Achieving a spot on the “A List” signifies more than just a score; it serves as a high-quality data indicator offering companies a comprehensive overview of their environmental impact. Madera highlighted that this recognition is a reference for transition plans and empowers companies to fulfill their ambitions in the pursuit of a net-zero, nature-positive future. Looking ahead, as CDP raises the bar for environmental leadership, Madera urged companies to turn commitments into meaningful and effective actions, especially as we enter the Decade of Action.
