ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leader in information and communication technology solutions, has joined forces with China Mobile’s Zhejiang Branch and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to achieve a groundbreaking milestone in peak data rates, hitting an impressive 5.4Gbps. This achievement was made possible through the industry’s first end-to-end field test of 3CC CA (three Carrier Component Carrier Aggregation) combined with 1024QAM (1024-state Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) in Jiaxing. The test demonstrated a single-user downlink peak rate exceeding 5.4Gbps, signifying a significant advancement in network capability and user experience.
This accomplishment leveraged new 5G-A features to fully exploit the spectrum potential of 5G commercial networks, thereby enhancing both network capabilities and user experiences. Additionally, it underscored the effectiveness of 5G-A technology in facilitating swift and efficient collaboration across various segments of the industry chain, including system products, commercial chips, and terminals. This demonstration serves as a crucial reference point for expediting the commercialization of 5G-A.
As one of the “5G-Advanced Dual-Chain Integration Innovation Demonstration Bases,” China Mobile Zhejiang Branch is utilizing its high-quality commercial 5G network to progressively implement 5G-A air interface enhancement technologies. The objective is to expand the information superhighway and fully meet the demanding requirements of emerging services such as VR smart experiences, ultra-high-definition live broadcasting, and glasses-free 3D.
Looking ahead, China Mobile’s Zhejiang Branch, ZTE, and Qualcomm Technologies are committed to driving innovative practices and technological advancements forward. By unlocking the full potential of 5G through technical innovation and large-scale commercial deployment, they aim to further propel the transition to an intelligent society while enhancing the quality and efficiency of the digital economy.
