Charter Communications Appoints Simon Cassels as Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer

Charter Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) has announced the appointment of Simon Cassels as Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, effective immediately. Cassels, a seasoned marketing and creative executive with experience at leading brands such as GoodRx, Ring/Amazon, and Apple’s dedicated agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab, will now lead Charter’s creative strategies to enhance Spectrum’s brand identity and drive growth.

“Simon brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic insight, paired with a customer-first mindset, aligning with our mission to engage with customers beyond being just a connectivity provider,” said Sharon Peters, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Charter Communications Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand. Cassels will report directly to Peters. “He will spearhead our efforts to create a differentiated customer experience that starts with our seamless connectivity services, unlocking limitless opportunities.”

In his new role, Cassels will be responsible for elevating and energizing the Spectrum brand by developing and executing marketing strategies aimed at increasing customer awareness and engagement. He will also oversee the positioning of Spectrum’s residential products and services, define B2C and B2B marketing strategies, and collaborate across functions to identify and pursue growth opportunities. His leadership will extend to the SMB Marketing, Direct Response, Multicultural Marketing, Retail Marketing, Spectrum Community Solutions, and Customer Communications Creative teams.

Cassels brings extensive experience in lifestyle and technology branding. As Creative Director of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, he led the marketing launch of the iPad and iPad mini and created Apple’s iconic and longest-running commercial campaign, “Shot on iPhone.” He later became Chief Marketing Officer at Ring, where he played a key role during its rapid expansion from a startup to the world’s largest home security brand, with products in millions of homes across more than 30 countries.

Most recently, Cassels served as Chief Brand Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing at GoodRx, where he led the company’s marketing strategies through a rebranding initiative and its IPO, significantly increasing brand awareness among consumers and healthcare professionals. In 2023, his efforts helped over 25 million customers.

Throughout his career, Cassels has received numerous accolades, including multiple Cannes Lions, Addy, Clio, and Telly awards. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design & Communication from the University of the Arts London.
