Comcast RISE: Grants for 500 Small Businesses in 5 Regions

Comcast has just announced the expansion of its Comcast RISE initiative, extending support to 500 more small businesses across five regions. This move reaffirms Comcast’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as promoting community investment.

Through Comcast RISE, selected businesses will benefit from a comprehensive support package, including business coaching sessions, educational resources, a $5,000 grant, creative production services, media schedules, and technology upgrades. The aim is to empower small businesses to thrive and contribute to economic growth within their communities.

Starting May 1 until May 31, eligible businesses in Atlanta, Houston, Jacksonville, Richmond (VA), and southern Colorado can apply for these grants on the Comcast RISE website. By August 2024, 100 grants per region will be awarded, totaling 500 grants overall. This brings the total number of recipients under the program to 14,000.

Loren Hudson, SVP and Chief Diversity Officer at Comcast, emphasized the vital role of small businesses in driving local economies and communities. She expressed Comcast RISE’s pride in supporting these businesses and helping them expand and flourish.

Originally launched in November 2020 to aid small businesses impacted by COVID-19, Comcast RISE has since evolved to focus on enabling both businesses and their communities to thrive. The initiative offers a range of support, including business coaching, educational resources, monetary grants, creative production, media services, and technology upgrades.

Moreover, Comcast RISE provides a dedicated destination on X1, where small business owners can access relevant news, tips, and insights. X1 customers can simply use their voice remote to navigate to the Comcast RISE section.

Comcast RISE forms part of Project UP, the company’s $1 billion commitment to advancing digital equity. Through various programs and partnerships, Comcast aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance economic mobility, and create opportunities for future innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators.
