Maxis and Singtel Launch Malaysia’s First 5G Orchestration Platform at MCY Summit 2024

Maxis has partnered with Singtel to launch Malaysia’s first all-in-one platform that integrates 5G network, edge computing, cloud, and service orchestration, leveraging Singtel’s Paragon for telco networks. This platform is set to make 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and 5G technologies, along with edge and multi-cloud computing, more accessible to Malaysian businesses, fostering digital transformation across key sectors like manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and public services.

The partnership was officially announced at the Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY) Summit 2024, organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to enhance the national commercialisation ecosystem. The Summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged at the Maxis booth between Maxis CEO Mr. Goh Seow Eng and Singtel Digital InfraCo CTO Mr. Manoj Prasanna Kumar.

This new platform, offered through Maxis Business, Maxis’ enterprise division, will provide ‘on-demand’ edge computing services, enabling customers to access low-latency computing, GPU as a Service (GPUaaS), and storage solutions. Its multi-access edge computing (MEC) capabilities allow data from end-users and devices to be processed at the edge, while integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) ensures real-time processing and intelligent decision-making.

Paragon also features a robust marketplace available to both Maxis customers and partners, allowing enterprises to easily create network slices on-demand and deploy critical 5G applications on MEC with just a click.

Mr. Goh Seow Eng, CEO of Maxis, commented on the collaboration, stating, “This partnership addresses customer needs by providing a unified 5G platform that simplifies orchestration across network and cloud environments. It offers businesses greater access, speed, and flexibility in deploying and managing 5G and cloud computing solutions, enabling them to concentrate on their core operations and enhancing their global competitiveness. As Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, we are eager to accelerate the adoption of 5G-A and 5G and drive the digitalisation of Malaysian businesses as their preferred digital business partner.
