Telefónica Tech and Microsoft have joined forces in a groundbreaking collaboration aimed at revolutionizing cybersecurity for enterprises worldwide. Announced at the RSA conference in San Francisco, California, this partnership signifies a strategic alignment to integrate cutting-edge security solutions with unparalleled operational expertise.
By combining Microsoft’s advanced security and AI solutions with Telefónica Tech’s deep cybersecurity proficiency, customers can expect a proactive, integrated, and automated approach to real-time security management. This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Telefónica Tech’s cybersecurity portfolio, encompassing services such as Detection & Response, Identity Access Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Data Protection, among others. These enhancements promise to bolster incident response capabilities and streamline security processes, ultimately fortifying organizations against evolving threats.
One of the highlights of this collaboration is the integration of Microsoft’s cybersecurity capabilities, including the powerful Microsoft Copilot for Security tool, into Telefónica Tech’s existing security operations. This 24×7 protection will be managed by Telefónica Tech’s specialized teams, boasting the highest qualifications and certifications in Microsoft technology, stationed at Telefónica Tech’s Digital Operations Centers in Madrid and Bogota, Colombia.
María Jesús Almazor, COO of Telefónica Tech for Spain and the Americas, emphasized the significance of this global cooperation, stating, “Companies worldwide will harness the full potential of technology to digitize processes and operations, underpinned by generative artificial intelligence tools, all while ensuring maximum security.”
Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft Spain, echoed this sentiment, affirming, “The collaboration between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft will empower our customers with innovative security solutions driven by Artificial Intelligence, bolstering their cyber-resilience.”
Telefónica Tech’s stellar reputation as a managed security services provider (MSSP) has been further solidified, earning the company recognition as the 2nd top global MSSP according to MSSP Alert’s Top 250 Global MSSP list in 2023. Additionally, Telefónica Tech was honored as Microsoft Partner of the Year in Spain in 2023, achieving the highest level of partnership across all designations, including security and Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP). In 2024, Telefónica Tech has expanded its technical capabilities from Microsoft by attaining specializations in Cloud Security and Threat Protection.
This cybersecurity collaboration represents a continuation of the longstanding partnership between Telefónica Tech and Microsoft. Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled its Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain, wherein Telefónica Tech is among the key collaborators alongside 15 other technology partners. The RAIIC aims to foster the adoption and secure utilization of artificial intelligence through training sessions, innovative AI use cases, and guidelines for its responsible application.
