INWIT ranks among the world’s top 500 sustainable companies, placing eighth among Italian firms in the Times ranking

INWIT, Italy’s leading tower operator, has been recognized as one of the world’s 500 most sustainable companies by TIME and Statista. Ranking 166th globally and 8th among 20 Italian companies, this accolade underscores INWIT’s dedication to a sustainable business model, seamlessly integrated through its Sustainability Plan that focuses on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects.

INWIT has made notable progress, including efforts to bridge the digital divide through the Italy 5G Plan, setting a 2040 Net Zero target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and securing certifications in Environmental, Health and Safety, Energy Management Systems, and Gender Equality. Additionally, this year marks the release of INWIT’s first Integrated Report, which merges the Non-Financial Statement with the Annual Financial Report.

The collaboration between Statista and TIME aims to spotlight companies championing corporate responsibility and sustainable practices. From an initial pool of 5,000 of the world’s largest companies, the top 500 were selected based on ESG ratings (40%), key performance indicators (40%), and reporting and transparency (20%).

Michelangelo Suigo, INWIT’s External Relations, Communication & Sustainability Director, remarked, “This prestigious award validates the strength of our sustainability journey. Our ‘intrinsically sustainable’ business model integrates industrial, economic, social, and environmental efficiency. TIME’s recognition motivates us to continue ensuring our infrastructure benefits our customers, territories, and communities.
