Comcast, DraftKings Elevate Xfinity X1 Sports Betting

Comcast has revealed exciting enhancements to the Xfinity X1 platform, offering customers more engaging ways to explore and enjoy live sports on their television screens.

Introducing Xfinity Odds Zone on X1, the company has collaborated with DraftKings to provide an integrated on-screen experience for sports enthusiasts. This feature allows X1 customers to seamlessly view live odds during major sports events, eliminating the need to divert attention from the main screen. Debuting on March 12 during THE PLAYERS Championship, Xfinity Odds Zone enables users to access betting information and place wagers on the DraftKings Sportsbook app through a QR code scan on their mobile devices. The immersive experience will extend beyond golf, covering events like the men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments, NBA & NHL Playoffs, as well as the MLB and NFL regular seasons.

John Dixon, Senior Vice President, Entertainment at Comcast, emphasized the collaboration with DraftKings, stating, “For sports fans, there is no better way to track in-play odds than right next to the live event, so we’re working with DraftKings to bring customers a transformative experience that makes it easy to follow the action and initiate bets while the event unfolds.”

Xfinity Odds Zone will reside within the Sports Zone app on X1, a widely used companion experience offering quick access to live sports, real-time scores, and stats. Customers can activate the Sports Zone app by saying “sports app” into their voice remote or pressing the “c” button.

In addition to Xfinity Odds Zone, Comcast is introducing a new interactive sports experience on X1, starting with THE PLAYERS Championship on March 12. Golf enthusiasts can now enjoy a consolidated view of live coverage from various channels, including NBC, Golf Channel, Peacock, PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, and the TOUR’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel. By saying “THE PLAYERS” into their voice remote, customers gain access to interactive features such as an immersive course tour, a dynamic scorecard, and a live leaderboard. The experience also integrates Comcast Business as a Proud Partner, offering curated news and highlights from NBC, ESPN, and the PGA TOUR FAST channel. Customers can effortlessly switch to Xfinity Odds Zone to check the latest tournament odds and initiate bets via the DraftKings mobile app.

Vito Forlenza, Vice President, Entertainment Apps at Comcast, expressed enthusiasm about leveraging major sports events like THE PLAYERS to experiment with new features and enhance the modern-day viewing experience. Eileen Diskin, Chief Marketing Officer at Comcast Business, shared her excitement about bringing this immersive experience to sports fans during one of the PGA TOUR’s premier tournaments.
