Viasat and Azercosmos to Expand EMEA and Asia Satellite Services

Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global leader in satellite communications, announced a collaboration with Azercosmos to extend its reliable L-band satellite services to Azerbaijan and beyond.

Under this arrangement, Azercosmos and Viasat will offer connectivity for various industrial applications, enhancing operational efficiency, sustainability, and safety even in remote locations. These applications include tracking and telemetry for advanced transport systems, pipeline monitoring and control for energy companies, real-time control for utilities, and environmental or safety monitoring for mining and agriculture.

Azercosmos, which provides a range of telecommunications, remote sensing, surveying, and ground station communications services for both public and private sectors, will significantly expand its connectivity offerings through this collaboration. This partnership will allow Azercosmos to offer more services to both existing and new customers, complementing its existing satellite fleet.

This marks the first time Viasat-enabled satellite services will be available in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Andy Kessler, President of Viasat Enterprise and Land Mobile, stated, “Our global satellite fleet supports a wide range of applications and sectors worldwide, from individual explorers using satellite phones to large industrial sites managing complex supply chains across borders. We are proud to collaborate with a diverse ecosystem of partners to prioritize our customers’ needs. Partnering with Azercosmos is an exciting step in bringing these services to new customers and organizations.”

Fuad Aslanov, Vice-chairman of Azercosmos, commented, “Agility in the satellite service market is crucial for us. At Azercosmos, we aim to expand our reliable services to consumers and businesses globally. This landmark agreement with our strategic partner, Viasat, will strengthen our collaboration and unlock limitless possibilities for connectivity in EMEA and Asia.”
